Women of Faith
A dedicated group of women meet on the first Tuesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. to make ten loaves of sandwiches for Evangel Hall (an inner-city mission of the Presbyterian Church in Canada). These are then available for the homeless downtown.
Many of these women are talented in more ways than one. They bring knitting or other handicrafts to work on after the sandwiches are completed. They (and others) also make mitts for the "Mitten Tree" in the Sanctuary. These are then delivered with the sandwiches to Evangel Hall on the first Wednesday of the month.
Another area of outreach in our congregation is in the area of crafts. A variety of the members and friends of our congregation make toys, blankets, mittens and clothing for several organizations, which serve our community (e.g. The Hospital for Sick Children, True Davidson Acres, The Providence Centre and Toronto East General Hospital). These dedicated people use a variety of talents in the construction of these gifts for the needy and infirm (e.g. knitting, crocheting, sewing, etc). Our contact details are given below, if you are interested in contributing to this area of our ministry and we can share more information and patterns.
Also welcome are those who are unable to join us at the Church, but are willing to work from home. Materials such as wool, etc. would be delivered to them at home. Contact information is as follows:
